Bespoke bride Jade Part 1

Our Journey started with Jade last year in December 2021 she booked a bridal consultation with us to discuss her forthcoming wedding  in August 2022. Jade has a clear vision of what she wanted her wedding dress to look like. Jade explained to me she love the silhouette of Kim Kardishian's wedding dress. The fishtail skirt with a long train and fitted sleeves.  Along with the back detail of the dress which was backless.

Jade decided she wanted a different neckline and wanted to insert a front gusset detail to her bodice. I advised her to use a skin tone illusion net as a feature for her wedding dress. As there would be a cut out feature on the front & back of the bodice. Her wedding was taking place in a church which her father is the pastor. Jade's dad is the priest at her church, so we wanted the dress to have a classic vintage modern feel to the overall look and style.

Once I had all the elements and details Jade wanted in her wedding dress, I came up with some designs she could select her final wedding dress design. A design was selected with a few modification added. I then started the process of taking Jade's body measurements to start her pattern creation in a 3D form (calico toile) mock up version of her wedding dress.

Each part of the dress is perfected at the stage. The cut the fit is all altered during the process. The process took serval fitting to ensure Jade was happy with her dress

We were able to source fabrics that Jade liked for her wedding dress. The choices were narrowed down to two embroidery tulle designs. Jade selected a Lightweight Silk Mikado fabric and a embroidery panel detail. The embroidery selected was very narrow in width and length which resulting in us having to hand apply the embroidery unto a plain tulle. All of which was done by hand.

We decided at this start to boning into the the front bodice seam and bra cups to add a lift to the bodice area
